RMSI Pips Google as Best Workplace

Co based in the National Capital Region tops Best Companies to Work for Study 2015

RMSI, an IT services company based in the National Capital Region offering GIS (geographic information system), modeling & analytics and software services, has topped the Best Companies to Work for Study 2015, a collaboration between the Economic Times and the Great Place to Work Institute.

The company edged past Google India, which has consistently topped the survey for five consecutive years.RMSI had topped the rankings in 2009. Seven hundred companies signed up for India’s Best Companies to Work For 2015.Over 1.8 lakh employees across 20 sectors were surveyed, making this the most comprehen sive survey of workplace culture in India.

“One of the big trends that the study has thrown up is the maturing of Indian companies. If you look at the top 25 best workplaces, MNCs outnumber Indian companies. However, Indian companies outnumber MNCs in the next 25 ranks, showing that Indian companies are catching up,“ said Prasenjit Bhattacharya, CEO, Great Place to Work Institute, India. The information technology sector maintained its dominance with three of the top five workplaces hailing from the sector.

IT companies also accounted for a fourth of the top 100 best workplaces. Interestingly, even though there were only eight companies from the hospitality sector in the top 100, two companies from the sector Marriott and Accor Hotels made it to the top 10. The remaining hospitality companies all figured in the top 50, pointing to the fact that entities in this space were focusing on people practices. The top 100 workplaces were feted at an awards function in Mumbai that saw more than 60 CEOs and HR heads of India Inc in attendance. “People are the energy of any organisation. The success and failure of an organisation depends on them,“ said National Skill Development Agency (NSDA) chairman S Ramadorai, delivering the keynote address.
